Vimutti Monastery Seeks to Establish Eco Village

Traditionally forest monasteries in Thailand would have a section where lay people could build their own huts for practising meditation, and this is now possible at Vimutti. We are exploring the options for creating an intentional community of non-monastic Dhamma practitioners. Vimutti Monastery envisions Sambodhi Village where a group people live in simple dwellings and share some communal facilities. Some of these people might choose to live at Sambodhi as their primary residence, leading a serene, meditative life, while others might choose to periodically make use of their dwelling as a contemplative retreat.
